Fantastic world building and layers upon layers of story depth add a lot of mystery and intrigue as Ceda solves her mother's riddle. Very well written.
Personally, I found the pacing was slow, largely due to the constant flashbacks. I see now, that they were required though.
I also did not find Ceda to be the most likable protagonist. The sexual promiscuity in the book seemed a bit much. It seemed that every character was contemplating who they should be with next, even if it was an enemy. Otherwise the overall story itself was epic, and is just the 1st in a 5 book series.
Well done, Bradley P. Beaulieu.
